Youth
A Youth Ambassador is a young person aged 14–25 who wants to make a difference at their tennis club. They’ll help plan and deliver Love Tennis 2025, bringing fresh ideas and a youth voice to the event.
It’s a chance to foster leadership and communication skills, build confidence, and create a stronger sense of belonging. Involving youth in this way often leads to more participation and a more engaging club experience.
Youth Ambassadors should stay connected with their club’s Love Tennis lead and will be invited to short online sessions with other Ambassadors.
They’ll also be supported by Ben, our 2025 Youth Champion, who’s there to guide and inspire them throughout the journey.
Each club can shape the role to suit their environment, and we’ll be here to provide resources, ideas, and support along the way.
The Love Tennis Youth Ambassador Guide offers a variety of fun and engaging ways to involve young people at your club.
It includes suggestions for roles and responsibilities they can take on during the event, along with ideas that empower youth to take the lead and feel a sense of ownership in the day’s success.
Involve Them in the Planning
Invite them to be part of the planning process. Ask for their ideas around activities, music, or creative ways to engage other young people.
Assign a Mentor or Support Person
Pair them with a coach, committee member, or even a previous Youth Ambassador who can guide them before and during the event.
Play to Their Strengths
Let them take ownership of what excites them most. Whether that’s leading games, being on the mic, running social media, or designing signage.
Make It Fun and Social
Encourage their friends to get involved too. Everything is more fun with mates! Keep the vibe light, inclusive, and positive.
Reccognise and Celebrate Their Contribution
Thank them publicly, give a shout-out on social media, or provide a certificate or small token of appreciation to acknowledge their mahi.
Ask for Feedback
After the event, take a moment to connect and ask:
-
What did you enjoy most?
-
What would you change for next time?
-
Would you like to stay involved with the club?
Do you, or someone you know, want to be part of the Youth Ambassadors team?
Get in contact with our Youth Champion to learn more!
