A great opportunity has arisen for a professional tennis coach to join the Coaching Team of Paul Arnott Tennis Ltd at Mount Maunganui Tennis Club in the Bay of Plenty.

Mount Maunganui Tennis Club is set in the grounds of Blake Park and is walking distance from the beautiful beach. The club has a very diverse membership which encompasses Junior Hot Shots Tennis, Senior Coaching programme which caters for all levels, Senior & Junior Interclub, Cardio Tennis, Midweek Ladies, Senior & Junior Club Nights, Senior Club Day,  Business House, Fast 4 Shoot Out Tournaments, Individual Senior & Junior coaching  and lots more social events.

The suitable applicant will need to be competent in all aspects of club coaching and have the skill level to play and represent MMTC at Senior Interclub. The ability to communicate in a professional and friendly manner with club members and other coaching staff is essential.

Minimum qualification: Junior Development Coach (ITF Level 1)

Kiwi Tennis is a tennis management company that delivers comprehensive coaching programmes to all ages and abilities in 6 clubs and around 30 schools across Auckland. We currently have a fantastic team of international coaches and support staff and are on the look-out for another quality coach to join our team.

We are looking for a highly skilled and qualified individual with extensive club coaching experience and a proven background in developing club coaching programmes. The successful individual will be a career coach, extremely proactive and confident in being able to sell themselves, the coaching programme and tennis products from the pro shops. You must also be highly organised and have great communication skills.

This role will involve working in multiple locations across the week, and will include:
• Hot Shots Coaching
• Junior Group Coaching
• Tennis in Schools
• Cardio Tennis
• Private lessons with both juniors and adults
• Summer secondary school team coaching

The suitable candidate must have the following:
• LTA Level 4 qualification
• Experience coaching juniors and adults of all ages and abilities.
• Experience with developing club and school coaching programmes, and ideally previous experience as a Head Coach.
• Very good administration, communication and computer skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• The highest level of professionalism.
• Outgoing and dynamic personality that can relate easily to adults and juniors.
• Higher education qualification in sports development/coaching/management is desirable but not essential
• Clean driving license essential
• Current Police Check
• Eligibility for a working holiday visa into New Zealand, with a view to sponsorship of a work visa in the following years.
• First Aid Certificate is desirable but not essential
• The ability to commit for 2 years.

Lake Pupuke Tennis Club, situated in Takapuna, Auckland is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach.

The club has nearly 100 senior members and a children’s program - after school and Saturday mornings.

The club offers:

-   An infinitely expandable kids program. There are nine schools in close proximity (four secondary, three primary and an intermediate). An enthusiastic well-organised coach can develop a good income from these alone

-   A 16 metre by 9 metre hall with a 5 metre high ceiling which allows winter programs to be run for younger children no matter what the weather

-   Senior coaching to members. Some paid time to coach “Free” lessons to Senior members

-   Four Astro courts with flood lights and one hard court available at no charge

-   A supportive committee

The position will suit a coach wanting to develop his/her own team. Expected abilities include:

-   Sound Coaching skills from Basics to senior level

-   Good at getting the best from children

-   Professional approach to schools

-   Prepared to develop skills in assisting with running a mid-sized club

-   Help expand the club membership (we are the nearest Club to the Smales Farm complex.)

This role will involve working in multiple locations around Taranaki during the week, and will include:

  • Prepare/deliver a high-quality development programme for beginner Hot Shots to junior/senior NZ reps.
  • Provide group and private coaching, team and squad training.
  • Run Cardio Tennis as required.
  • Develop other coaches.
  • Deliver Tennis NZ School Partnership Programme.
  • Assist with tournaments referee/controller, team selection and club championships.
  • Develop and deliver Winter programmes, Holiday activities and Training camps.
  • Be willing and able to travel with players as required, including international travel if necessary.
  • Liaise with and support the club's Management Committee to further enhance the club and its activities.
  • Travel to other clubs as directed to deliver junior and private coaching lessons.
  • Of necessity some of this work will need to be carried out during after-school hours.
  • Deliver in-school programs.
