Marcus Daniell's red hot form continues
Marcus Daniell and Philipp Oswald have continued their superb form in Europe overnight.
Fresh from beating the world’s top ranked doubles pair in the ATP final in Sardinia last weekend, the Kiwi and his Austrian partner have beaten top seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo to reach the semi finals of the ATP tournament in Cologne.
Daniell and Oswald have won 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 in 1 hour 27. They were ruthless on their break point chances, converting three from three chances. By contrast their Polish and Brazilian opponents could only convert two of their 12 chances.
Daniell and Oswald will face French Open champions and third seeds Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies for a place in the final.
Meanwhile Kiwi born Ben McLachlan who is from Queenstown but plays for Japan, is through to the final with Michael Venus’s former partner, South African Raven Klaasen.
They’ve beaten Aussies Max Purcell and Luke Saville 7-5 6-4.
Meanwhile Venus and his Australian partner John Peers will play their semi final at the ATP tournament in Antwerp tonight. The seconds seeds face play Spaniard Pablo Andujar and Dutchman Sander Arends.
