Tennis NZ Summer Series Returns With a Stacked Season of Professional Tennis

Thursday, 22 October 2026

New Zealanders will have multiple opportunities to experience professional tennis up close this summer, with the Tennis NZ Summer Series returning for 2026/27.

The series brings together four tournaments across the country, from the Bayleys Open in Hamilton and the EVES Open in Pāpāmoa, to the ASB Classic in Auckland and the newly named Juice Products New Zealand Open in Timaru.

With free public entry at several events, world-class tennis at the ASB Classic and premium courtside hospitality available throughout the series, there are plenty of ways for fans to experience the thrill of live tennis this season.

The summer begins in Hamilton, with the Bayleys Open running from 6-13 December at Waikato Tennis Centre. After a hugely memorable inaugural event, with New Zealand number one and Waikato local Anton Shepp winning the men’s singles title, anticipation is high as the event returns.

Entry is free throughout the week, with corporate tables available for those looking for a premium courtside experience.

The EVES Open follows from 13-20 December at Pāpāmoa Tennis Club in Tauranga, offering another opportunity to watch international tennis in a relaxed summer setting.

The tournament reaches a new milestone this year, moving up to M25 and W50 level for the first time. The higher tournament categories offer more ranking points, prize money, and the opportunity to attract higher-ranked players.

Public entry is free, with spectators able to watch from the bank beneath the club’s shady trees. Corporate tables are also available.

The ASB Classic returns to Auckland as the country’s premier tennis event, bringing some of the sport’s biggest names to Manuka Doctor Arena in Parnell.

The WTA 250 and ATP 250 gives New Zealand fans the chance to see top-level professional tennis on home soil. Alex Eala, Jakub Mensik, Elina Svitolina and Brandon Nakashima are already announced as players on their way to the ASB Classic in January.

Tickets are on sale now, with strong demand at the 2026 tournament seeing 19 of 22 sessions sold out.

The series continues into February with the Juice Products New Zealand Open, running from 14-21 February 2027 at Trust Aoraki Tennis Centre in Timaru. The event features men’s M25 and women’s W35 competition, with more than $100,000 in prize money on offer.

The tournament was also one of just 40 events worldwide to receive the World Tennis Tournament Recognition Award for overall event excellence in 2025, selected from more than 1,200 tournaments held globally.

Entry is free Monday to Friday, with finals tickets (Sat + Sun) on sale soon. High-demand corporate boxes are also available through the week.

While all the tournaments give a fantastic chance for New Zealand players to earn ranking points and prize money in front of home crowds and without incurring high travel costs, the tournaments also are a great way to get more exposure for the sport here at home, and to engage local tennis communities.
