New Zealand number one Paige Hourigan has returned to international tennis in style, winning the ITF US $15,000 singles title in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.

Hourigan has beaten Czech Anna Siskova 3-6,6-1, 6-2 in 1 hour 25 in the final, recovering from a poor start to win comfortably in the end.

Hourigan plays another ITF US $15,000 tournament in Sharm El Sheikh this week.

Meanwhile ATP doubles players Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak are in action this week at the ATP250 tournament in Marbella in Spain. Daniell and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald are the second seeds and face a tough test against former French Open champions, Spaniard’s Feliciano, and Marc Lopez.

Sitak has teamed with Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis and they have been pitted against the Mexican pair of Santiago Gonzalez and Miguel Angel; Reyes-Varela.

On the WTA Tour, Erin Routliffe has travelled to Bogota in Colombia for the Bogota Open. She is playing doubles with Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Tomova. They have been pitted against top seeds Arantxa Rus and Tamara Zidansek in the first round.
