Venus and Routliffe hit the grass court season

Monday, 06 June 2022

Following their 3rd round defeats at Roland Garros New Zealand doubles players Michael Venus and Erin Routliffe have hit the grass. Venus and his German partner Tim Puetz are top seeds for the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart.  They have drawn Portugal’s Francisco Cabral and Bosnia Herzegovina’s Tomislav Brkic in the first round.

Venus and Puetz are 13th in the race to qualify for the ATP Finals in Milan and a tournament win this week would see them rise to 10th.

Erin Routliffe and Alicja Rosolska are playing at the Nottingham Open this week and have copped a difficult first round draw. They play third seeds Shuko Aoyama from Japan and Taiwan’s Chan Hao-Ching whom they lost to in the quarter finals in Stuttgart early in the clay court season.

Routliffe and Rosolska play their opening round match overnight New Zealand time.
