Loutit beaten in boy's doubles semis

Saturday, 10 September 2022

A mixed day for Jack Loutit in the boy's doubles at the US Open.

Loutit and Matthew Wagner (Britain) beat American's Kaylan and Meecah Bigun 3-6, 6-4 (10-7) in the quarters in a huge match on court 9 taking one hour 10 minutes.

In the semifinals they faced Dylan Dietrich (Switzerland) and Juan Carlos Prado Angelo (Bolivia) but were beaten 7-6(9), 6-7(2) 8-10 in one hour 53 minutes.

For Loutit it was a disappointing end to a productive tournament.

"It's been a positive week for me I came close to the third round in singles and almost made the final in doubles, lost in a tiebreak 10-8. It's disappointing but it's been a good week."

He will now return home to reset before planning on playing some pro events.
