Good wins for Statham and Rai in Noumea

Rubin Statham is through to the singles quarter-finals and Ajeet Rai is into the doubles quarter-finals at the ATP Challenger tournament in Noumea.

Statham has had an impressive 7-6 (6)4-6 6-4 win over French 5th seed Geoffrey Blancaneaux in 3 hours and 31 minutes. Statham will play another Frenchman Laurent Lokoli in today’s quarter finals.

Rai and Aussie Thomas Fancutt are the 4th seeds and have had a 6-2 7-5 win over French wildcards Maxime Chazal and Nicolas N’Godrella and will play Australian wildcards Matthew Harper and Mitchell Harper in the quarter finals today.
