Tennis Club Member Surveys 2019-2021

From 2019 to 2021, Tennis has been part of the Sport NZ/Nielsen IQ Voice of the Participant Survey project.  This survey is designed to gather club member feedback from all sports, to help sports and sports clubs understand where things are going well, and where things needs improvement.  The findings from these surveys help direct both local and national work with regard to club experience for all ages and levels of players.

In 2019, club members told us that the main reason for belonging to a club was to play competitively,  have fun, and to get fit and healthy.  Aspects they would like to improve (if fees increased) were facilities (e.g. club rooms/changing rooms) and playing/training facilities.

In 2020, the reasons for belonging to a club were the same as 2019, as were the aspects for improvement.

And in 2021, having fun took the top spot for the reason to belong to a club (followed by to play competitively, and to get fit and healthy).  This year, facilities were still the most desired area for improvement, followed by player development programmes.
