Venus and Daniell both seeded for respective ATP 500 tournaments

New Zealand’s top ranked doubles player Michael Venus and his new partner Germany’s Tim Puetz are seeded 5th for this week’s ATP 500 grass court tournament in Halle in Germany. They have received a bye into the second round and will play either Brazil’s Marcelo Demoliner and Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez or French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas and his brother Petros Tsitsipas. However, it wouldn’t be a major surprise if they withdraw following Stefanos’s exploits in Paris.

Marcus Daniell and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald are seeded seventh for the ATP 500 tournament at London’s Queen’s Club. They also have a bye into the second round and will face the winners of the match between Frenchmen Benoit Paire and Adrian Mannarino and an alternate pairing.

Meanwhile Ajeet Rai and Australian doubles partner Jeremy Beale have pulled out of the final at the ITF $15,000 tournament in Monastir in Tunisia. They were due to face India’s Siddhant Banthia, and Korea’s Park Ui-sung in the final but Beale withdrew through injury.
