Super tiebreak losses for New Zealand players

It was a tough day for New Zealand players in the Middle East on Wednesday. 

In Dubai, Erin Routliffe and Gaby Dabrowski lost a tight match 6-4 3-6 10-2 against Linda Noskova and Yulia Putintseva. 

Lulu Sun and Peyton Stearns were due to play against Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend in the second round in Dubai, but the victory was given to the Czech and American players in a walkover.

Earlier in the day Stearns lost her singles match against Mirra Andreeva 6-1 6-1.

In nearby Doha Michael Venus and Nikola Mektic went down 4-6 6-3 10-3 to the British duo of Neal Skupski and Joe Salisbury, in a match that lasted for one hour, 26 minutes.
