Hourigan's impressive form continues

Paige Hourigan’s terrific form in Northern Africa has continued overnight.New Zealand’s top ranked women’s singles player is through to the quarter finals in singles and semi finals in doubles at the ITF tournament in Monastir in Tunisia.

 In singles Hourigan has beaten Tunisian wildcard Chiraz Bechri 6-1 6-2 in 56 minutes before teaming with Australian Alex Osborne to beat Russian Daria Lodikova and Dutchwoman Stephanie Visscher 6-2 6-3 and reach the doubles semi finals.

24 year old Hourigan will face 20 year old 7th seed Joanne Zuger of Switzerland for a place in the singles semis and Hourigan and Osborne will meet Romanian third seeds Karola-Patricia Bejenaru and lona-Georgiana Ghioroale for a place in the doubles final.

 Meanwhile New Zealand doubles player Erin Routliffe and her American partner Jamie Loeb have lost their quarter final at the WTA tournament in Charleston.  They have been beaten 6-2 6-4 by Germany’s Julia Wachaczyk and Mexican Renata Zarazua.

On the ATP Challenger tour, Artem Sitak and his Spanish partnerDavid Vega Hernandez have been thumped 6-1 6-1 by Israel’s Jonathan Erlich and Belarussian Andrei Vasilevski in the quarter finals of the tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.
