Back to back doubles finals for Monique Barry

Monique Barry is into her second doubles final in as many weeks, with her Australian partner Elena Micic.

After winning the title in Burnie last weekend, Barry and Micic have continued their success in Tasmania.

At the ITF $30,000 tournament in Launceston, they defeated Gabriella Da Silva Fick and Belle Thompson, who are both from Australia, 6-4 6-2.

It was a rematch of the final in Burnie, and once again Barry and Micic triumphed in straight sets. Last week is was 6-3 6-4.

Barry and Micic are the second seeds in Launceston and in the final they will take on the Japanese pairing of Miho Kuramochi and Erika Sema.

Barry is expected to jump up from 289 to around 271 in the doubles world rankings when they’re next updated, which would be a career high for the 22-year-old.
