A loss in the quarters at Indian Wells for Michael Venus + Jamie Murray

Michael Venus and Jamie Murray have lost their quarter-final match at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

 

Venus and Murray were beaten by the world number one doubles pairing Wesley Koolhof (NED) and Neal Skupski (GBR) 6-3, 6-3.

 

Venus and Murray’s Indian Wells campaign started last weekend with a straight sets win in the Round of 32 against Marcel Granollers (ESP) and Horacio Zeballos (ARG) – 6-3, 6-4.

 

Then, in the Round of 16, the Kiwi/British team came back from a set down to beat John Peers (AUS) and Dan Evans (GBR) 3-6, 7-6, 10-6.

 

Venus is currently ranked 17th in the world for doubles.
