What You Need To Do As A Club

As a club within the Tennis system, you have roles and responsibilities around safeguarding.

You need to:

  1. Appoint a safeguarding lead. Click here for the safeguarding lead page.
    • The Safeguarding Lead can be any person within the Club.

The role of the Safeguarding Lead is:
• Co-ordinate and oversee the screening processes within the Club
• Be the named individual at the Club that anyone with a concern about participant protection can approach for guidance on how to address the matter within the Regulation guidelines.
• Engage with the Regional Complaints Manager if there is a need to have them approach a possible
Complainant or investigate an incident that has come to light.

  1. Provide the Tennis Participant Protection Regulation (TPPR) document on your club website. Click here for the TPPR document.

  2. Ensure you know and have the processes required around disputes and complaints provided to your committee and available for members.

  3. Have safeguarding as a standing item on your agenda.
